Booklet menu cards
For menus with genuine page count — and a decision to make about binding.
A booklet menu card is a multi-page menu, typically 8 to 32 pages, held together by binding rather than folding. Aveera Design Solutions produces booklet menus with saddle stitch, screw post, ring and wiro binding, in A5 and A4. The binding choice determines whether individual pages can later be replaced.
Page count is the easy part. Binding is the decision.
Once a menu passes roughly forty items with descriptions, folding stops working and you need a bound book. At that point the important question is not how many pages — it is whether you will ever want to change one of them.
Saddle stitch (stapled through the spine) is the cheapest and the neatest, and it is permanent. Change one price and you reprint the entire booklet. It suits a menu that is genuinely stable, or one you intend to reprint seasonally anyway.
Screw post and ring binding open, so a single page can be swapped. They cost more up front and save money from the first price change onward.

Structure across pages
The thing that goes wrong in booklet menus is not design, it is navigation. A guest who has to flip back and forth to compare a starter with a main will simply order the first thing they liked. Sections need to be findable — consistent headers, a predictable order, and where the page count justifies it, tabs or a contents panel.

Quick answers
How many pages before we need a booklet?
Roughly when a bi-fold stops holding the menu at a readable type size — usually past 40 to 50 items with descriptions. Shrinking type to avoid binding is a false economy; an unreadable menu costs more than a bound one.
Can we add a seasonal section later?
With screw post or ring binding, yes — pages are inserted without touching the rest. With saddle stitch, no; the whole booklet is reprinted.
Should the cover be a different material?
Often, yes. A card booklet with a leather or wooden cover gives you a durable outside and cheap replaceable inside, which is the most economical structure for a menu that changes.
